PROGRAMMING DEPARTMENT COMMUNICATIONS
REQUIREMENT SHEET

Our goal at Craftsman Tool & Mold is to offer you a finished mold base of the highest quality machined to your specifications. Many of our customers are now using CAD systems for designing their bases. These design systems allow for the very efficient transfer of information between customers and suppliers. We at "CTM" are capable of receiving information in a variety of formats. The following guidelines have been established to help ensure your complete satisfaction with our product and services.

1.) Ample use of layers.

• Each plate should be on a different layer, also place inserts on separate layers.
  
• Complex plates should have holes and milling on different layers.
  
• Water lines should be on separate layers.
  
• Different colors are helpful for clarity but are not necessary.
  
• Include dimensioning & other detailing if available. Preferably on different layers.
  
• Add tolerances to all Main Pockets & Main Bore diameters.
  
• Specify corner radius at the bottom of Main Pockets & Main Bore diameters. (C.T.M. Standard sizes are 1/32, 1/16, 1/8, & 1/4 radius)
  
• Include "Bill of Materials "& "layer" list. This information is needed for ordering components. Also useful to verify tap sizes & brands of components for tolerances.
  

2.) Common origin points.

• Everything pertaining to a specific plate should have the same origin point.
  
• Connecting lines/arcs need to be trimmed. Our system will not automatically create continuous paths.

3.) Please format information via either:

• Dxf (2D Only),
  Iges, & 3D Iges Wire Frame,
  AutoCad 3D Dwg.
  CadKey Files (Quotes Only)
  
• Our preferred format is a "3D" ".Iges" file with dimensioning.
  
• (Please compress large file sizes with Pkzip.) (We have PKUNZIP.)
  

4.) We can receive media information via either:

• Dos formatted, 3 1/2" diskettes,
  
• Dat tape cartridge (4mm),
• CDROM

5.) Changes:

• All changes must be updated with new media files, along with supported Fax or Email.
• Please incorporate contact person's name & telephone number.
